Michael P. Murin

Currently, Mr. Murin is the Vice-President of Commonwealth USA’s Vendor Management and Settlement Services. With over 30 years in the mortgage and settlement service industry, he brings extensive experience at a high management level leadership role for all collateral products spanning into originations, default and servicing operations. He is responsible for the direction to all operational elements, and is ultimately accountable for establishing the highest degree of client satisfaction and the success of our business partnership to both clients and third-party organizations. In addition, Mr. Murin provides a diverse background with a unique skill set of streamlining processes, work flows and project management, ensuring everyone is on the same page to do the job right.
Prior to joining Commonwealth USA, he managed multiple operations within the origination, default and vendor management industry, and was employed by some of the largest banks and servicing companies whose portfolio’s assets averaged $140 million and above (Prudential Home Mortgage, Standard Federal, Norwest Mortgage, LandAmerica, Lender Service, ATM Corp. and ServiceLink). During his tenure working large portfolio loans which included jumbo files in the default industry, Mr. Murin’s background was in the areas of collections, loss mitigation and foreclosure operations, before being promoted to Manager for overseeing the eviction and REO operations. He was instrumental in accomplishing significant savings throughout his career with a few of his accomplishments consisting of reducing the overall portfolio holding time from 12 months to 120 days, implementing a new vendor fee structure for third party vendors resulting in a 35% fee savings and coordinating the largest residential real-estate auction in the Northeast resulting in liquidating over 200 properties worth 9.5 million in a one (1) day event. Furthermore, his origination background and oversight held several key operational leadership positions, which included business development, product development, project manager, centralized pre-closing, closing, post-closing, disbursement, and valuations. He was also instrumental in accomplishing significant savings throughout his career for the various companies he was employed with.
Mr. Murin holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Economics from Indiana University of PA. He lives in Pittsburgh area with his wife, cat and two dogs. In is free time, Mr. Murin likes to spend as much time outdoors and is a football referee for youth to high school programs.
